1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. They let the site remember you across pages and visits — for example, keeping you signed in, remembering your language, or counting page views without identifying you personally. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, fingerprinting) work the same way for the purposes of this policy.

2. Cookies we set

A small set of cookies are set by AUM Phangan itself. These are needed for the site to work and we cannot turn them off without breaking core features.

• Supabase auth session — keeps you signed in to your account dashboard.
• Language preference — remembers whether you chose English, Russian or Thai.
• Cookie consent itself — records the choice you made on the cookie banner so we don't ask you on every page.
• In-progress booking cart — short-term storage of the session you are about to check out.

3. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party services that help us understand how the site is used and run paid advertising. We only enable these after you accept analytics or advertising cookies in the banner.

• Google Analytics — anonymous traffic analytics. Helps us understand which pages and sessions resonate.
• Meta Pixel — used when we run Facebook / Instagram ads. Measures whether ad clicks turn into bookings.
• TikTok Pixel — same purpose, for TikTok ads.
• PostHog — product analytics. Tracks funnel completion, feature usage and basic session replay. PII is masked.
• Vercel Speed Insights — anonymous page-load performance metrics, used to keep the site fast.

4. Essential vs optional

We group cookies into four categories:

• Essential — required for sign-in, booking, and remembering your consent choice. Cannot be disabled.
• Preference — remembers things like your language. Not strictly essential, but disabling them degrades the experience.
• Analytics — anonymous traffic and product analytics. Optional, off by default until you opt in.
• Advertising — used for measuring paid campaigns. Optional, off by default until you opt in.

5. How to opt out

• Use the cookie banner at the bottom of the page. Choose “Essential only” to disable analytics and advertising cookies.
• You can re-open the banner any time by clearing the aum-cookie-consent cookie in your browser or visiting this page in a private window.
• Browser settings — all modern browsers allow you to block or delete cookies globally or per site. Note this may break sign-in and bookings.
• Browser-level “Do Not Track” signals: if your browser sends DNT, we treat it as opting out of analytics and advertising cookies.
